Is this secure enough for sensitive dashboards?
Yes. Credentials are AES-256 encrypted on the player device and never pass through Hangar.Media cloud infrastructure. Sessions are managed locally on the device. You can also use dedicated service accounts with limited read-only permissions for an additional security layer.
What if the dashboard has two-factor authentication?
Hangar.Media supports TOTP-based two-factor authentication for automated login. For SMS-based 2FA, we recommend creating a service account that uses app-based 2FA or has 2FA exempted for the signage IP address.
Can I use this with SSO providers like Okta or Azure AD?
Yes. The Authenticated Dashboards feature supports SAML and OAuth SSO flows including Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, and OneLogin. The player handles the SSO redirect automatically.
What happens if my password changes?
You can update stored credentials remotely through the Hangar.Media management console. Until updated, the player will attempt to re-authenticate with the stored credentials. You will receive a notification if authentication fails.
