Sectors // Retail Overview

Every retail screen is a revenue surface. Most retailers treat them like posters.

Modern retail is a live-inventory, live-promotion, live-operations business. Prices change hourly (liquor, electronics, fashion markdowns). Product availability shifts per store per hour. Promotions layer on campaigns on loyalty. Hangar.Media reads from the systems you already run — POS, inventory, e-commerce, CMS — and surfaces live product, price, stock and promotion on every screen in the estate. One platform, every screen in the store, one flat £5 per screen per month.

Sectors // Retail Questions

Common questions. Straight answers.

Do I need new commercial displays, or can I use TVs?

For window-facing placements and drive-thru / forecourt, commercial-grade displays (2,500+ nits, IP-rated, 16-hour-rated) are essential — consumer TVs burn out within 6 months of direct-sunlight retail use. For interior zones, commercial displays still pay back within 18-24 months on service-call reduction alone. We can spec and quote hardware alongside the software subscription, or work with your preferred AV partner.

How do price updates flow from my POS to the screens?

Integration-dependent. For Shopify, Lightspeed, Square, Clover and Oracle MICROS, live webhook events propagate a price change to the screens within 30-60 seconds. For legacy POS without webhook support, we poll at configurable intervals (typically 60-300 seconds). Price auditability logs every change for regulatory or tax-audit purposes.

Can shopping centres run centre-wide plus per-unit content?

Yes. Shopping centres typically configure a 'centre' content profile (wayfinding, centre events, food-court directory) pushed from the centre management team, plus per-unit content that individual tenants push via a permission-scoped login. Centre-level takeovers for promotions or emergencies override unit content for the window specified.

What's the real cost for a 10-store retailer?

£5 per screen per month, flat. A 10-store operator averaging 12 screens per site (window + shelf-edge + checkout + video-wall) pays £600 per month for software. For a 100-store national retailer running 20 screens per store, that's £10,000 per month — less than the annual cost of a single seasonal printed-vinyl refresh cycle. Every feature, every integration, no enterprise gate.
