Nexmosphere sensors meet Hangar.Media screens.
Plug in Nexmosphere sensor controllers and let pick-up sensors, proximity detectors, RFID readers, and button triggers drive your screen content natively within the Hangar.Media platform.
Plug-and-play sensor experiences
Nexmosphere is a leading manufacturer of sensor hardware designed specifically for retail and interactive display environments. The Hangar.Media Nexmosphere integration provides native support for their full product range including XN-series controllers, pick-up sensors, proximity detectors, RFID antennas, push buttons, and LED drivers. Connect the controller via USB and map sensors to content triggers in the dashboard.
What you can do with Hangar.Media screens.
Three capabilities that make this integration essential for your digital signage network.
Full product range supported
Hangar.Media recognizes and sets up Nexmosphere sensors automatically. From XY pick-up sensors and XR RFID antennas to XP proximity detectors and XB push buttons, every product in the Nexmosphere range works out of the box with zero firmware setup.
We plugged in the Nexmosphere controller and every sensor was recognized in the dashboard automatically.
Auto-detection of connected Nexmosphere sensor types
Support for XY, XR, XP, XB, and XL sensor families
Zero firmware configuration required
Map sensors to screen actions
The visual trigger builder lets you assign screen content actions to each sensor event. A pick-up sensor triggers product info, a proximity detector starts a welcome video, an RFID scan loads personalized content. Combine multiple sensor inputs for sophisticated interaction sequences.
The trigger builder makes it visual and simple to connect physical actions to screen responses.
Drag-and-drop sensor-to-content mapping
Multi-step trigger sequences for guided experiences
Fallback content when no sensor is active
Light up products and shelves
Nexmosphere LED drivers can highlight products on shelves in sync with screen content. When a visitor approaches or picks up an item, LEDs illuminate the product while the screen shows its information. Hangar.Media controls both the screen and LED outputs from one dashboard.
LEDs light up the product on the shelf while the screen shows its features, creating a coordinated experience.
Synchronized LED and screen content triggers
Color, brightness, and animation control per LED channel
Shelf highlighting to draw attention to featured products
Four steps to connected screens.
From setup to live content in minutes, not days.
Connect the Nexmosphere controller
Plug the Nexmosphere XN-series controller into a USB port on your Hangar.Media player. The dashboard detects it automatically.
Attach and detect sensors
Connect sensors to the controller ports. Hangar.Media identifies each sensor type and creates entries in the trigger builder.
Map triggers to content
Use the visual trigger builder to assign content actions to each sensor event. Set up pick-up, proximity, RFID, and button triggers.
Test and refine
Activate each sensor to verify the screen responds correctly. Adjust timing, transition effects, and fallback content as needed.
Built for every sector.
See how different industries use this integration to drive results.
Luxury product showcases
Luxury retailers use Nexmosphere pick-up sensors and LED shelf lighting to create premium interactive displays where lifting a watch or handbag triggers detailed product stories and craftsmanship videos.
BeautyFragrance discovery stations
Fragrance retailers use RFID-tagged tester bottles with Nexmosphere readers so lifting a bottle triggers scent profiles, ingredient details, and promotional offers on the adjacent screen.
EntertainmentMuseum interactive exhibits
Museums use Nexmosphere proximity sensors and pick-up triggers to create exhibits where approaching or handling objects activates contextual videos, narration, and educational content.
CorporateShowroom product demonstrations
Corporate showrooms use Nexmosphere sensors to create self-guided product demonstration stations where visitors interact with physical samples while screens present technical details.
Common questions. Straight answers.
Which Nexmosphere controllers are supported
Hangar.Media supports the full XN-series range including the XN-185, XN-135, and XN-115 controllers. Both USB and serial connections are supported. The controller is auto-detected when plugged into the player.
How many sensors can I connect to one controller
The number depends on the controller model. The XN-185 supports up to 8 sensor ports, each capable of daisy-chaining multiple sensors. A single controller can manage 20 or more sensors depending on the configuration.
Can I combine Nexmosphere sensors with other IoT sensors
Yes. Nexmosphere sensors and generic IoT sensors can both feed into the same Hangar.Media trigger engine. You can create rules that combine Nexmosphere pick-up events with temperature readings from a separate MQTT sensor.
Do I need to program the Nexmosphere controller
No. The Hangar.Media integration handles all communication with the Nexmosphere controller. Sensor detection, configuration, and trigger mapping are all done through the dashboard with no programming required.
One price. The whole platform.
That's how we think signage should work. Content editor, screen management, and 200+ app integrations — all included from day one.
