Is Viva Engage the same as Yammer?

Yes. Microsoft rebranded Yammer as Viva Engage in 2023 as part of the Microsoft Viva employee experience platform. The Hangar.Media integration works with both Viva Engage and legacy Yammer communities.

Can I moderate which posts appear on the signage screen?

Yes. You can filter posts by community, hashtag, author, or content type. You can also enable a moderation queue where posts must be approved before appearing on the signage screen.

Do viewers need a Viva Engage licence to see posts on screen?

No. The signage screen displays Viva Engage content through the Hangar.Media integration. Anyone viewing the screen can see the posts without needing their own Microsoft 365 or Viva licence.

Can I display Viva Engage alongside Teams messages on the same screen?

Yes. You can add both Viva Engage community feeds and Teams channel messages to the same Hangar.Media playlist, creating a comprehensive internal communication display.
