Common questions. Straight answers.
What is a Lottie animation?
Lottie is an open-source animation format that renders After Effects animations in real time. Animations are exported as small JSON files that are resolution-independent and play smoothly on any device. They are the standard for lightweight motion graphics on web and mobile.
Can I change the colours of library animations?
Yes. Hangar.Media supports colour overrides for Lottie animations. You can remap the colours in any animation to match your brand palette without editing the original animation file.
Do Lottie animations work on all player hardware?
Yes. Lottie animations render through a lightweight JavaScript engine that runs on all Hangar.Media supported player hardware including Android, Chrome OS, Linux, and Windows devices. Performance is excellent even on entry-level hardware.
Can I use Lottie animations as overlays on other content?
Yes. Lottie animations can be layered as transparent overlays on top of images, videos, or other content. This is ideal for animated borders, corner decorations, attention-drawing effects, and transition elements.
