Common questions. Straight answers.
Which transit agencies are supported?
Hangar.Media supports any transit agency that publishes GTFS or GTFS-RT data feeds. This includes over 1,000 agencies worldwide covering most major cities in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australasia.
How accurate are the arrival predictions?
Arrival predictions use GPS-based vehicle tracking data provided by the transit agency through GTFS-RT feeds. Accuracy depends on the agency data quality but is typically within 30 to 60 seconds for agencies with real-time vehicle tracking.
Can I show walking times to the nearest stops?
Yes. Hangar.Media calculates walking time estimates from your building entrance to each displayed transit stop based on pedestrian routing data. These times appear alongside arrival predictions so commuters know the total time to departure.
What happens if the transit data feed goes offline?
If the real-time GTFS-RT feed is unavailable, Hangar.Media falls back to the static GTFS schedule data. Screens switch from showing live predictions to displaying scheduled times, with a visual indicator noting that real-time data is temporarily unavailable.
