Common questions. Straight answers.
Do I need a separate IPTV subscription?
Yes. Hangar.Media provides the streaming infrastructure on your signage but does not include IPTV channel subscriptions. You need a valid IPTV service provider with M3U playlist or stream URL access.
What IPTV formats are supported?
Hangar.Media supports M3U and M3U8 playlists, HLS streams, and MPEG-TS over UDP and HTTP. Most commercial IPTV providers are compatible.
Can I show IPTV alongside other signage content?
Yes. Use multi-zone layouts to display live TV in one zone while showing announcements, social feeds, or branded content in other zones on the same screen.
How much bandwidth does IPTV streaming require?
Bandwidth depends on the stream quality. Standard definition requires approximately 2-4 Mbps per screen, while full HD requires 5-10 Mbps. Hangar.Media can auto-adjust quality based on available bandwidth.
