Sectors // Overview

Restaurants don't need more software. They need screens that keep up with the kitchen.

A restaurant's menu changes three times a day and four times a week. The steak's eighty-sixed by 7pm, the oat milk's out, the dessert special hit an allergen snag and had to be pulled. Traditional menu boards — printed, laminated, and updated by whoever's closing — can't keep pace. Hangar.Media plugs into the systems you already run (Toast, Square, Lightspeed, Revel, Zonal, Tevalis) and lets the menu you see in the kitchen be the menu your customers read. Pricing, availability, allergens and dayparts update together. One platform, every screen, no per-connector fees, no minimum term.

Live POS price sync so a dish removed in the kitchen disappears at the till and on the screen within 30 seconds
Daypart scheduling that rotates breakfast to brunch to lunch to dinner without anyone touching a tablet
Natasha's Law compliance with pre-built allergen icons for all 14 regulated allergens plus custom dietary flags
Waitlist, reservation status, and 'your table is ready' displays on the same network as your menu boards
Sectors // What It Does

Built for how restaurants actually run.

The capabilities that matter in this sector — concrete, specific, and backed by the integrations your team already uses.

Menu Boards // 01

A menu board that reads from your POS, not from a Google Doc.

Connect once to your POS (Toast, Square, Lightspeed, Revel, Zonal, Tevalis, Epos Now and 20+ others). Your item list, prices, modifiers and 86'd status sync to the screens automatically — so when the kitchen pulls the lamb ragu out of circulation at 8:47pm, it's off the customer-facing board by 8:47pm and thirty seconds.

If the till knows it, the screen knows it.
  • Live price and availability sync for every SKU in your POS
  • Auto-hide for sold-out or 86'd items — no manual toggles
  • Per-category layouts (mains, sides, drinks) with independent design templates
  • Portrait and landscape layouts on the same network, scheduled independently
Dayparts // 02

Breakfast at 7. Brunch at 10. Lunch at 12. No one touches anything.

Schedule four distinct menus per day — or sixteen, if that's what your service rhythm needs. Each daypart has its own layout, colour palette, photography, and pricing. Rotations happen on the minute, automatically, across every screen in the building. Holiday, seasonal, and event menus slot in with one click; you don't have to unschedule anything.

You decide when the dinner menu goes live. The screens do the swap.
  • Up to 16 scheduled menus per day, per screen zone
  • Seasonal and event menu overlays — stackable, not replacing the base daypart
  • Kitchen-side 'specials kiosk' for the chef to push a daily dish to every board in 10 seconds
  • Clear preview mode — see what any screen will look like at 6pm without waiting until 6pm
Allergen Compliance // 03

Natasha's Law on the board. Not buried in a QR code.

Every dish on your screen can display its regulated allergen icons inline — the same way the best brochures do, without the legal exposure of hiding the information behind a scan-to-see QR code. We ship 14 pre-built icon sets for the UK's regulated allergens (gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soybeans, milk, tree nuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites, lupin, molluscs) plus dietary flags (vegan, vegetarian, halal, kosher, low-FODMAP).

Your kitchen already tracks this. Your screen should show it.
  • 14 regulated allergen icons plus custom dietary flags per dish
  • Auto-populated from POS item attributes where your POS carries them
  • PPDS-compliant formatting for pre-packaged items sold at counter
  • Language toggle for high-tourism locations (EN/FR/ES/DE/IT)
Waitlist & Reservations // 04

Turn your entrance into a conversion funnel.

A screen at the door showing live estimated wait time turns 'walk-by' into 'walk-in'. A screen at the bar showing 'Your table is ready, Mr Patel' turns a 20-minute wait into a bar tab. Hangar.Media reads from your reservations platform (OpenTable, SevenRooms, Quandoo, ResDiary, Tock) and your waitlist (Yelp Waitlist, NextMe, Waitlist Me, Walk-In) to surface the right message at the right threshold.

The wait time displayed is always more accurate than the one the host guesses.
  • Estimated wait time from reservations + current table turn data
  • 'Your table is ready' bar-area notifications with guest first name
  • Reservation-confirmed screens by the door — reassures arriving parties
  • Quiet-hour messaging that flips to late-menu specials after 9pm
Specials & Upsell // 05

The special sells itself — before the server says a word.

Rotating daily specials with food photography, ingredient callouts and pairing suggestions. Upsell the £3 Aperol spritz with the burger. Promote the dessert menu only to tables seated longer than 40 minutes. Hangar.Media integrates with your POS, kitchen timer, and table-management system so the right prompt appears at the right moment.

Server-free upselling. Customers read it, act on it, and feel it was their idea.
  • Chef's Special kiosk — swap a dish across every screen in 10 seconds
  • Pairing prompts (wine with mains, dessert wines with desserts) triggered by POS order data
  • Loyalty program tie-ins: 'You're 3 points from a free starter' on table-side screens
  • Countdown promotions: 'Lunch deal ends in 14 minutes' for the 2pm last-sitting
Multi-Site // 06

Run 3 restaurants or 300. Same dashboard.

Group your sites by brand, region, or menu cluster. Push a universal menu change across every site at once, or schedule a per-site override for the one location that runs a different chef's special. Permissions down to the branch level — your Soho manager can update Soho, not Bristol.

Centralised brand consistency with local autonomy. Not one or the other.
  • Site groups, template inheritance, per-location overrides
  • Role-based permissions — manager, area manager, marketing, head office
  • One-click menu rollouts with dry-run preview at every branch before publish
  • Usage, uptime and content analytics per screen for every site

Sectors // Questions

Common questions. Straight answers.

Which POS systems do you integrate with for menu boards?

Hangar.Media integrates natively with Toast, Square for Restaurants, Lightspeed Restaurant, Revel, Zonal Aztec, Tevalis, Epos Now, Oracle MICROS Simphony, NCR Aloha, Touchbistro, Clover, and 15+ others. If your POS has a REST or webhook API, we can most likely connect. POS sync is included — no per-connector fee, no premium tier.

How do you handle allergen compliance for Natasha's Law?

Every dish can display its regulated allergen icons on-screen, drawn from your POS item attributes where available or entered manually via our content tool. We ship icon sets for all 14 UK regulated allergens (gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soybeans, milk, tree nuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites, lupin, molluscs) plus vegan/vegetarian/halal/kosher flags. Allergen data is versioned with your menu so you can prove what the screen showed on any given date.

Do I need new screens, or can I use what I already have?

Most restaurants already have perfectly capable commercial displays. Hangar.Media runs on Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, BrightSign, and Android-based players. We also ship our own fanless Android player (£89 one-off) for operators who prefer zero-config plug-in-and-play. If you're using a TV set and want advice on whether it'll hold up to 16-hour dayparts, we'll tell you honestly — commercial-grade usually pays back within 18 months on service calls alone.

How does pricing work for a 6-restaurant group?

£5 per screen per month, flat. For a 6-restaurant group running 4 screens per site (24 screens total), that's £120 per month, £1,440 per year. What you see is what you pay. Every integration, every feature, monthly billing, cancel any time. Compare that to what one annual print-menu refresh costs your group in laminator rolls alone.
